IACS Summer Series – Register now for an event in your area!

April 17, 2026 By IACS

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: THE SUMMER SERIES!

Join us for a time of learning about best practices in implementing your school’s mission and vision through curriculum, instruction, and assessment! The intent of the Summer Series is to bring high-quality professional learning to school faculty and staff across Iowa.

This year’s topic is best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment and will feature presenters Jim Peterson of Christian Schools International (CSI) and Jill Van Soelen and Rachel Vanden Hull of the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE). Sessions will focus on best practices for new and current schools to take a fresh look at implementing your mission and educational outcomes through your curriculum, instruction, and assessment.  A key focus will be on teaching, learning, and assessing from a Christian perspective.

IACS is excited to bring the Summer Series to 3 locations across the state: Isaac Newton Christian Academy in Cedar Rapids June 16, Pella Christian High School in Pella June 17, and Dordt University in Sioux Center June 18 (the same workshop presented in 3 different locations) from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM these days. Participants will learn from the in-person session in June and during two Zoom sessions (September 23 and October 28 from 3:45-4:45) to support implementation during the school year. Zoom sessions will be recorded for those who might have a conflict.

We thank our sponsors Dordt University Master’s Program, the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE), BJU Press, and presenting sponsor IXL and invite teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, school leaders, and more to join us to learn helpful practices regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Registration includes all learning materials, swag, prize drawings, snacks, and lunch.

Participants have the option to register for and earn one licensure renewal credit from Dordt University.

Note that AEA education services funding can be used to cover the cost of the Summer Series (participants should select the option to be invoiced when registering).
