The school choice movement has been transforming education for decades, and its momentum continues to grow. Over the past three years alone, 24 states—including Iowa—have taken bold and innovative steps to expand access to school choice.
But what exactly is school choice? At its core, it means giving parents the power to select the educational environment that best suits their child’s unique interests, needs, and aspirations. Whether it’s a public, private, charter, magnet, online, or homeschool option, school choice puts families in charge of their children’s education.
At the Iowa Association of Christian Schools (IACS), we are proud to join the National School Choice Week celebration. We believe that every child deserves an education that inspires their potential, nurtures their growth, and prepares them for a bright future.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued a proclamation recognizing January 26 – February 1, 2025 as Iowa School Choice Week.
